Does Reis, Inc. pay a dividend?
Reis does not currently, nor does it expect to, pay a dividend, as the intent is to retain cash for growth through investments in infrastructure, the expansion of product offerings and/or acquisitions. Since May 1997, the only distribution was made on December 14, 2005, in connection with Wellsford's then existing plan of liquidation. Upon consummation of the May 2007 merger, the plan of liquidation was terminated. Consequently, it was necessary to recharacterize a portion of the December 14, 2005 cash distribution of $14.00 per share from (i) a liquidating distribution to (ii) $1.15 per share of ordinary income and $12.85 per share of return of capital. Shareholders should consult with their tax advisors.
